About Villa Gajah Putih

Gajah Putih was built as a family vacation home by an Italian clothing magnate over twenty years ago. He personally supervised much of the design and selection of materials to create a beautiful beachfront estate. The same care went into the hiring and training of the staff, most of whom have been with the estate from the start. Hospitality comes naturally to the Balinese and other natives of the Indonesian archipelago, who take pleasure in introducing its rich and diverse cultures to visitors.

The villa’s design recalls the grand proportions of Southeast Asia’s large colonial bungalows. Beautifully built of ironwood timber and furnished with carefully collected Asian textiles and antiques, the atmosphere of the house is substantial and serene, with all the warmth and elegance of a private home.
